The 6-His polyhistidine tag is a protein motif that consists of 6 or more histidine residues (H-H-H-H-H-H) engineered onto the N- or C- terminus of a protein of interest. Polyhistidine tags are useful for the detection and analysis of expressed recombinant proteins using immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunostaining techniques.
